Olson’s Bicycles opened in 1996 at the home of Mike Olson in an old shop at his residence in Forest Grove, OR. Recognizing the need for a bicycle shop that not only offered products for the recreational rider to the professional, he wanted to provide quality customer service and a top-notch service center. Mike’s vision was was rewarded and they moved into the current 1,000 SF shop on Elm Street in 2003.
Quality of service and service to the community is still a core value for Olson’s Bicycles. They currently work with the City of Forest Grove to maintain the bikes used for the local police bike patrols, they worked with Pacific University to supply bikes for their free bike program and they continue to offer 3-4 shop rides per week. Mike Olson also donates his time providing technical support at races and camps for up and coming riders.
Mike Olson is a lifelong resident of Forest Grove, OR with a passion for cycling and the credentials to prove it. After a successful career as a college Basketball player, Mike began cycling while living in Moscow, ID and working towards a second bachelors degree. Mike has completed the ride around the San Juan Islands and the Oregon Coast ride twice.
Mike feels one of his biggest accomplishments is improving cycling opportunities in the Forest Grove area. He offers multiple weekly shop rides during the spring and summer and spin classes during winter months.
Mike has been an avid supporter of both youth and endurance cycling. As a mechanic for the USA Junior Cycling Team, Mike was offered the opportunity to attend the Bill Woodruff race mechanics school in Colorado Springs, CO. Mike also provides mechanical support for 24 hours and 500 mile plus endurance rides.
